Carribean Stud Poker is a particular form of poker played in casinos. It was invented in the late 1982 with the name Casino Poker” and then, the rules we pretty different. Anyway, this form of poker is quite different from all the others and in this article we’re going to understand why. Let’s start.

Carribean Stud Poker rules are very similiar to the five-card stud poker one’s. What is different is that players will not play against them, but against the “house” (cards dealer). At the very beginning every player must place an ante (a forced bet, called by the dealer). After this, the house will deal five face-down cards at each player and five cards (one of which, facing up) to the house (himself).

Players must choose to continue or not basing on the possible hand ranks they own (in Carribean Stud Poker, players can’t change cards). Who decide to continue, will put another bet (called Raise) twice the value of the Ante. After all decision has been made, the house will reveal his hole cards (the facing down ones). Then, all the players who has continued, will compare their hand ranks. If the best hand will be higher than the dealer one, the player who owns it will win.

If the house happen to haven’t an  High Hand (meaning, an Ace of a King), he will announce a “no hand”. Then, all the players will be refounded one time their ante. Obviously, if the house does have an high hand, the game will procede as described above. If the player have an higher hand than the house, he will be payed by the ante and as the following examples for his bet (Royal Flush 100-1 , Straight Flush 50-1, Full House 10-1 and so on).

In the Carribean Stud Poker there’s also a Progressive Payout (or Jackpot). To try winning it, the player must insert what asked in the proper slot on the table. Then, some lights will describe who is trying to win the Payout and the amount of it will be shown on a display.
